Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to handle excavation, grading, trenching, and backfilling on residential and commercial job sites. This position requires the ability to read and interpret site plans, operate machinery safely and efficiently, and perform routine equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment to complete excavation, grading, trenching, and backfilling tasks
- Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and grade stakes
- Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections on equipment
- Load and unload materials using machinery
- Work closely with laborers and site supervisors to complete projects on time
- Follow all safety guidelines, regulations, and company policies
- Ensure job site is clean, organized, and safe at all times
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience operating heavy construction equipment
- Knowledge of safe digging practices and underground utility awareness
- Ability to read site plans and use laser levels or grade rods
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus)
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Team player with good communication skills
